Seared tuna tacos with all the usual trimmings

My colleague gave me this freshly caught tuna, my absolute bloody favourite! Thanks Nell. I made this for lunch, it’s super simple but fresh and tasty as hell.
Serves 4

Ingredients

2 avocados
1/3 cup mayo
2 tbsp diced jalapeños
Juice of one lime

400g fresh tuna

Roughly 2 cups of sliced cabbage - pickled
8 soft shells tacos
Garnish: coriander, spring onions, chilli oil and toasted sesame seeds

Instructions

Mash the avocado, jalapeño, lime juice and mayo together. Season with salt and pepper.

Season the tuna with salt and pepper, sear on all four sides very quickly in a super hot pan with oil. Let it rest of a bit then slice it with a sharp knife.

Pan fry the tacos or heat them over the stove flame.

Spread the avo on the bottom of the taco, top with tuna, pickled cabbage and all the garnish’s you like.

Seriously bloody delicious!

If you don’t have any fishing friends then head to Sanford & sons and grab yourself some fresh tuna from there (online or in-store).
